Billings Pro App Reviews

This is a cloud you do not want to be dependent on ...

Well. I used the old Billings and was pretty satisfied with it. Because I have to run two business administrations I needed to run a seperate kind of Billings program as well, since it was/is not possible to run more than one company administration in Billings. Fortunate for me (or so I thought) Billings just launched Billings Pro … Okay, it was a cloud app and at the time it was dollar 19,50 per month, but since I was satisfied with the normal stand alone Billings I thought it must be good, for this kind of money … So, I used it like two years and had not so much to complain about until I had no need for the program any more. So, I asked the people of Billings to end my subscription. They told me "… If you would like to close your account, please let me know and I will close it for you. Please keep in mind that if the account is closed, you will not be able to sync your data between devices or send invoices, estimates, or statements …" BUT what they meant was that the program would be totally dead. No possibility anymore to run rapports with the data that is in de program. This means that when IRS or any other tax autority comes in for an audit and they ask me to run some stuff it is impossible because the subscription ended … SO basicaly you have to keep paying Billings Pro up untill 7 years after you quit your bussiness in case of an audit by some tax authority. In my opinion this is such a flagrant disrespect of the customer that I for one will never choose for some cloud app again when it comes to billing software or important dossier stuff. Be warned. A BIG NO GO

no trial demo so no not taking the plunge

i have already spent over $200 on junky invoicing apps from the app store. I am not going to shell out more money and go through the hassle of setting up accounts etcetera on something that does not have any sort of demo or guarantee.

Getting better

I have used Billings Pro since May of 2012 in a selfserve environment meaning I have a computer that servers the database and clients that connect to that server. At times the program has been less then user friendly. Now with version 1.6.6 I still selfserve BIllings Pro and so far things have improved. Now saying this I only have one user right now but chose the selfserver version because I planned to add more users. The Timecard functioanlity is still a mess and I do not use it at all. If it was better Windows users could interact with the Mac only Billings Pro as well. The best thing about Billings Pro is, it is not an accounting package but offers all the features I need especially since I don’t do my own bookkeeping and accounting. The other great feature is the invoices and reports don’t look like the genaric Quickbooks forms.

made a mistake

Thought it would be a great app for billing my time. Wrong. Awful and not useful.

Product waste of time

Does not work, look elsewhere, Purchased a similar product from this company 8 months ago, still working with their tech support to have it work for three days without a crash or needing to reset the software. Product is not free, you must subscribe to a monthly payment plan.

Nothing but headaches and doesn’t work...

The product has never worked reliably, and recently stopped working and synching altogether. As a result, I have lost over a decade of accounting data that is no longer accessible to me, and can’t even create a brand new configuration or setup anymore (self-hosted, it is simply not accessible over any network, and keeps generating an "Error creating offline DB” message. Worthless and expensive. The company’s unwilingness to listen to their customers has always been a problem, but this recent grand fail was the last nail that now drove me elsewhere.

Frustrating waste of time

I have been using Billings for over a year and had high hopes it would improve with time. It has only gone from bad to horrible. Fix your bugs with data entry and template design Marketcircle!

False

This is not free. To be honest if it is actually does what they say it will I would have gladly paid for it. Not a monthly fee though. What a surpise as soon as you launch the app it must connect to something else that you need to pay for on a monthly charge. Stay away from this dud.

Monthly Subscription??

I have used other versions of Billings for years but not now with a monthly fee! Like others have said, I’d be willing to pay for the new version, even $20-30, but not a subscription.

Essentially $100 to $120 per year. No thanks.

I still have and use my copy of Billings 3.7.8, and it works fine under Yosemite. I had considered updating, and I would have happily paid a fair price for this app, but not at 100 to 120 bucks PER YEAR. Forget it.

Overpriced

I’ve used this software for many years and aside from the many bugs, I’ve enjoyed it well enough The current price plan leaves much to be desired for my one man business. Because there’s months I’ll need less than 5 invoices and others i’ll need to send less than 10, I’ve found that I’m constantly micro-managing my invoice software with the current price plan. The very idea of paying $120 per year for software is preposterous. That’s more than I pay for Netflix, or Amazon Prime, or even Microsoft Office 365!!! Others offer simular plan for half the price, which is about what I used to pay marketcircle every year for software updates. Now it’s twice as expensive and simply not worthy.

Syncing is unreliable

the iOS version of Billings Pro is great. The Mac OS X version works fine too until it come time to sync. Syncing never works when it is needed.

Great Product, Excellent Support!

We have used Billings Pro and Billings Pro Server self serve for almost 4 year now. It is hosted locally (BPS), and syncs with 5 computers (BP) and several iPhones. It delivers on it promise and support has be super helpful, friendly and effective. Note: A networked version syncing with several computers and mobile devices requires some finesse in the set up. Once its set up right, it is excellent. Highly recommend Billings Pro for any creative services company!

Great Application for invoicing!

I have had Billings 3 for several years and it has worked perfectly. Recently, we expanded our company and needed to have our database avaliable from any computer. The migration process was a little dificult for me to do on my own but their customer support team helped through it at a very quick pace. They got it all taken care of in about 2 days. They responded to my initial request within an hour. I mainly use Billings Pro for invoicing and not timing. It works perfectly. There are many premade templates or you can make your own for estimates, invoices, and statements. Sending out things is a breeze, just a couple clicks and you’re all set. I use their blueprints feature for setting up the prices I have for set jobs. I just choose the one I want and customize the name. The interface is very simple and easy to manueuver around. I definitely reccomend this program for anyone looking to do invoicing.

This is the worst application

I bought it a while ago tried it and hated it. A couple of tears later, tried it again and still hate it. I wonder why it is called PRO? it is the most confusing application I have ever used.

product is a let down

i have had this app for a number of years in order to run my business, ot has always had its minor problems but for $10 bucks a month i could live with or work around them. That is until resently when i somehow got logged out of my billings pro application only to get an error code when signing back in. After countless efforts of attemting to email marketcircle for help with no replyi finally found a contact phone number only to get a answering machin with no responce. Long story short, i lost everything, clients contacts, phone numbers, addresses, estimates, invoices, statements, payment history, and even if i did get all of that back it would only restore back to november 2014 becoause of the sync issue i was having witch set this whole thing off. spend a few more bucks and get quickbooks, dont listen to the idiots giving this app a good review like i did, be smart and go with the good stuff.

Extorted into purchase

After being told that I could use my previously purchased Billings 3 indefinitely, it abruptly failed to open today. I was told by support that the old version would not open under El Capitan (I’ve been running it in El Capitan for weeks) but that if I purchased the new version they could migrate my data. I’m subscribing just long enough to get my data out.

Great Product! Been using it for years

Billings Pro makes anything billing-related a breeze. Whether you’re a small biz or freelancer, it doesnt get much essier than Billings Pro.

Indispensable Tool

I’ve been using Billings for several years now to manage my business. The product has a wonderful feature set without being too noisy with so much configuration. I was up and running with the basics and sensible defaults. The support and team at Marketcircle have been incredible. I’ve only had one issue and they were able to resolve it within 24 hours. Their support team went above and beyond to help. I am a happy and satisfied customer as this software is wonderful to work with and it saves me the time from having to tinker with everything.

the BEST

Youre too broke to pay for Billings, yet have the time to whine about an app which: 1.Supports all new Mac & iOS, usually weeks or months before the OS is public; and 2.Supported  Watch OS before most devs could tie their shoes w/ WatchOS SDK; and 3.Has permanently taken the pain out of billing any time, any place for me and let my little company grow to 475 clients with no more than an intern; then Billings performance on their devices should be the least of your concerns.
